Insta Effect

For my next entry I wanted to do something fun. In doing so, I pondered what app I have really been enjoying this week. To be honest, I have been on and Instagram binge and the selfies are beyond belief. Anyways, discussing Instagram would have been boring and repetitive because it is something the majority of people know. Therefore, I searched for apps that would assist a user in more ways than one on Instagram and I found, Insta Effect! When the app starts up you are brought to a section called InstaCollage, here you pick one of the following layouts.

When you choose a layout, click on one of the sections and you can take a photo or pull from your camera roll.

After choosing the photos, (mine of of my adorable nephew, Aaron) you can edit individually!

Also, if a picture just does not fit right, you can rotate it to make it fit!

Once you have finished editing, you pick out a frame.

You can make the frame as thick as you want by moving the scroll.

Changing the frame color is another option.

Moving onto effect, you click each photo individually and change the effect. The options are similar to the Instagram with a few other selections.

Then you can add text but for my purposes I choose not to.

Stick allows you to add items into the pictures like smileys or holiday effects. You have the option to enlarge the items however big you wish.

From here you share the picture to whatever outlet you wish whether it be Instagram or just you camera roll.

I absolutely love this app! It definitely takes a bit of time to get it down but in the end it is worth it! It provides many more options compared to Instagram!

Nutrition Tips

As I patiently waited for a washing machine to become free I decided to start my search for an app to discuss. After our discussion in class today about health care and the future of it potentially being online, I decided to find a nutrition app. What I found was exactly that, Nutrition Trip! When you open the app it takes you to a nutrition tip right away.

It is an interesting one because usually when I cook, I defrost food at room temperature. My bad. From here, you can scroll though additional tips and quite frankly, they are endless!Sugar free is almost a given and something I would hope others would know to follow.

Hot spices speed your metabolism is perfect because I LOVE spicy things!

The garlic tip is interesting because it is not exactly a nutrition tip, more so a fact.

You can add a tip to you favorites.

By clocking fav, it takes you to your favorites which you can scroll through. Then more brings you to a list where you can do a variety of things with the nutrition tips from emailing them to texting!

This app is definitely interesting and informative. It would help a person who is into nutrition or would like to get into it. The app is very simple which makes it easy to use. I highly recommend downloading it and giving Nutrition Tips a shot!

Tattoos

Over the years have contemplated on the idea of getting a tattoo. In my generation it is something that is widely popular. People get them for many different reasons whether it be for a loved one or for something they love. My thought is to get the quote “ It is never too late to be what you might have been”. Then I picture myself as an old, fragile man with a quote tattooed on my body and the idea is quickly crushed.  I searched “tattoos” in the app. store and found just that, the Tattoos app.  Upon opening the app. you are given a huge list of categories from Angel to swallow.

By clicking and option like Gemini, my zodiac sign, you can scroll through pictures of peoples actual tattoos. Some of them are quite unique.

You can click any picture to enlarge it! You can even email or text it to someone, add to favorites and save it to your own personal photo collection.

Back on the main screen you can search for a specific category instead of scrolling.

You can check through your favorites.

One unique feature is more catalogs. Here you can look at all of the other free apps that have a collection of pictures!

The app. was interesting and fun, it almost reminded me of the Pintrest concept. I recommend it for someone who is looking into getting a tattoo because you get to compare and contrast different styles and places on the body!

Dental Surgery

While strolling across campus I decided to start looking for an app. With the endless amount of options I wanted something to entertain me. I scrolled through the game and found dental surgery. Although it is not going to be my future career, I thought it would be close to the game Operator. I used to play that all the time with my cousin and it has a lot of memories attached to it. This just seemed like a new, modern version of the game. Right away when the app. starts up, it is very interesting.

By pushing play, you come across the screen with information on the “patient”. It is almost like your own medical chart!

After that, you are given the list of problem, again playing off of this whole medical chart idea.

The next screen is the dental room and a full view of the mouth. My first patient is a dog, hence the massive teeth.

Now, here is where it started to get complicated! You have to choose the correct methods. For instance, I started with the anesthetic and failed. My patient was feeling pain so game over!

So I gave it another shot with a new patient, Jackie Martin.

I got the anesthetic down and even got to my procedure, well the beginning.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was like Operator but a bit more complex. I recommend this to anyone who likes a challenge!

Thanksgiving Maker

This week I wanted to stick to the holiday spirit and searched the app. store with the word “Thanksgiving”. Now let me tell you some quite unique apps. showed up in this search so I just downloaded about five. Going through the five, not so much fun! One app. was a game in which cookies dropped from the sky, pushing more cookies off the table. The more cookies that fell, the more you gained. It took me about 10 minutes to understand this concept while sitting in the airport so I decided to move onto Thanksgiving Maker. Judging a book by its cover, I assumed it was information on how to cook Thanksgiving dinner but I was utterly false. It is much better!! When the app. opens up, you have four options. I went with the table looking option in to the top middle and I was baffled at first glance. So after playing around, I realized I was setting the table to a Thanksgiving dinner with my own decorations! You pick a table cloth and yes this is an ugly one but you have limited options.

Then you move onto adding decorations.

Then you move onto the dishes.

The best part, the drinks!

After, comes the main course.

The side dishes are next.

Following that, is the dessert!!

My setup looks a bit crappy because a lot of the stuff is locked until you sign up. You can email the finished product or even connect it to Facebook. One major problem with the app. is that there is not enough room on the table for everything I want to put on it!

Black Friday Fat Wallet

With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I thought it would be a good idea to stick to the spirit and research and app. designed for black friday. While searching through the app. store, I found one that seemed perfect but after downloading it, there was absolutely no information on deals. It was completely blank. After that fail, I stumbled upon Black Friday Fat Wallet. The name is a little bit out there to be honest but it is quite the app.!Upon opening it, there are two options, store or category.

Store allows you to pick and choose between specific stores!

Once the store is chosen the options are broken down into categories and the number of deals.

For instance, apparel is then broken into more specific categories.

Within the category, you can view all the deals and go to purchase the item. Since it is a Black Friday deal, inn the top right of the screen you can favorite the item.

Back in the main screen, the second option of category breaks it down by item, camera vs. book and the number of deals.

I chose camera, and again it is broken down into categories to simplify the process!

From here you pick and choose based on camera, not on the store.

I found this app. to be extremely helpful for electronics but when it came to clothing, it did not list a deal in a store I would personally shop in. Besides that, if you are looking for a new computer or good book, I highly recommend this app.!
