Election

In light of it being election day, I decided to go with a festive app. After discussing in class on how to keep up to date on twitter, I found the people I was following were more so stating general opinions rather than facts. Instead of disrupting my following to followers ratio I decided to download the app. Election. Bursting with with red, white and blue the app. stands out right away. Upon starting the app. you have the option to choose an area within the United States and with that you see a certain the news station associated with that area. I chose Boston in light of the huge senator race going on between Brown and Warren which I have no heard much about down here in Tampa.

At the bottom of the screen are five options, the first is home which is the countdown to the election. Obviously since the election is today everything is at zero.

Next, todays photos is a selection of forty photos which you can slide through.

After that comes local and within it, there are another four options at the bottom,  stories, videos, sildeshows, voters guide. The stories come from the local news station that was attached to the area you chose. One thing in particular about the Brown/Warren story is that Senator Brown is voting in my middle school!

 

Videos brings you to youtube videos related to the election.

Slideshow is almost like todays photos but you have more options to chose from, not just a set of forty photos.

Voters guide is just a bunch of useful information that helps all voters.

Back to the original four, national is the national coverage and again is broken down into  the four same categories.

Social allows you to connect with your local news station through Facebook, email and even allows you to upload pictures.

I find this app, to be incredibly useful especially on the election day. Since my Twitter feed was not so informative on election day, this app. allowed me to get all of the information both local and national within seconds!
